I will review this more completely after I have used it a while, but my initial reaction is this is great. My previous Garmin was a 1490 and I was worried that this would not have several of the features on that model. I was pleasantly surprised to discover this model does provide the phone numbers of businesses you are going to and has some features that are better. All the information tabs on the screen can be customized and these include the current time, time of arrival, elevation, direction, etc. On the older model phone numbers were displayed when you hit the GO button, before going to the actual map. On this version when you hit the location you are going to, there is an "I" on the screen after you enter the address, before you hit the GO button, and hitting this gives you the phone number and alternate route information. If anything, this is a better arrangement because you can get to the route faster and if you actually want the phone number, hit the "I." This model has everything my older model had, and more. All you have to do to change any tab is push that button and it gives you more choices than you will ever need. The only "con" I have found is the one-hour battery duration. I plan to carry a spare DC cord in the car in case the one that came with the GPS fails. I often drive on LONG business trips and have to be prepared for every possibility. For those long trips this even has a trip log on the screen. This GPS does have North American maps, which means it will work in Canada and the US. I was even able to enter info about the Bahamas islands and it seemed to include that area.
